NCD MirM series controllers consist of at least 3 circuit boards, sold as a group. MirM uses contact closure inputs in one location to control relays in several remote locations. Two 1-channel relay controllers are included in the basic configuration. MirM controllers consist of a contact closure input board, shown at the bottom of the main product photos. Simply connect buttons or switches to the contact closure inputs of the contact closure transmitter to control 1 relays in two different locations for a total of 2 relays. Wireless range of MirM controllers is up to 2,000 feet indoors and in urban environments, or up to 2 miles in line-of-sight applications.
MirM controllers are ideal for applications that require a centralized control panel to control devices in several remote locations. Up to 24 remote locations are supported by our MirM series transmitter. We will automatically upgrade the transmitter for more inputs at no additional charge based on the number of remote locations you require.
This set of controllers includes two 1-channel relay boards with high-current relays installed. Choose between 20-Amp SPDT or 30-Amp SPST relays (configured during purchase). Please note that it is difficult to upgrade MirM in the future to include more relay outputs, as the main transmitter may need to be returned to us for reprogramming of additional units. Each MirM controller requires a 12VDC power supply.
The sender board and each receiver board is equipped with a Wireless 802.15.4 Module. MirM operates at 900 MHz, so it’s not bothered by WiFi or other common signals. The wireless module adds wireless communications to the board using an 802.15.4 wireless protocol and will only communicate with it’s paired modules. The module is powered from the board and the board itself will require 12 volts of power and can be hard wired or you can purchase a “wall wart” type transformer at checkout.
The MirM Series Controllers are very friendly for first time users. They arrive pre-configured and ready to work once powered up. Whether you are an electronics engineer or a home hobbyist, only a small amount of electronics knowledge is required to use the MirM Series controllers.
The MirM transmitter has contact closure input on-board to control each relay at each location independently. Inputs can be wired to trigger any of the relays at any of the remote locations in any combination. The inputs are contact closure inputs only – no voltage can be applied to these inputs. Buttons, switches, other relays or other electronic devices can be used as an input and trigger the remote relays as long as no voltage is applied.
MirM Controllers have relays integrated into the receiver board for the remote locations. Relays do NOT provide a voltage output, they provide a contact closure output and simply control the power to the device you are switching. Wiring to a relay will be slightly different depending on the model of MirM controller you choose.
The MirM Receiver Boards have a great feature where space is a premium – Break-Away Tabs. The Break-Away Tabs allow most receiver boards to fit in an optional undrilled plastic enclosure. Snap off the Break-Away Tabs and you have a receiver board with a smaller profile when you need to fit in a tight space.
MirM controllers are fast, capable of activating remote relays in less than a second. MirM controllers were designed for long life, you should expect to get years of service from your controller and literally thousands of cycles from the relay(s) onboard. MirM controllers are covered under our 5-year industrial warranty, so you have problems, we’ll help get you going again.
MirM series controllers are manufactured according to your exact needs. Please choose from the following relay options below:
This controller is available with a 20-Amp relay option, allowing control of high-power loads up to an absolute maximum of 240VAC at 20 Amps. Ideal for high-power switching applications, this relay should never be used for low-power signals. The 20-Amp relay is of the SPDT variety, which provides Common (C), Normally Open (NO), and Normally Closed (NC) connections. Common is connected to NC when the relay is off. Common disconnects from NC and connects to NO when the relay is activated. This relay uses .250″ Quick Connect terminals (optional accessory) to connect to the top side of the relay. The relay is molded with COM, NC, and NO markings into the plastic.
This controller is available with a 30-Amp relay option, allowing control of high-power loads up to an absolute maximum of 240VAC at 30 Amps. Ideal for high-power switching applications, this relay should never be used for low-power signals. The 30-Amp relay is of the SPST variety, which provides Common (C) and Normally Open (NO) connections. Common has no connection when the relay is off. Common connects to NO when the relay is activated. This relay uses .250″ Quick Connect terminals (optional accessory) to connect to the top side of the relay. The relay is molded with COM, NO markings into the plastic.
