Polylactic Acid (PLA), is a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester also known as Polylactide. PLA is available in many colours and varying levels of opacity. Considered to be a great starter filament, PLA is relatively easy to print and extrudes at a low temperature (180C).
PLA is one of the most commonly used filaments in 3D printing due to its affordability and ease of use. PLA is specifically easier to use because it doesn't warp like other materials can, making it ideal for printing large items. Plus PLA is a plant-based renewable source, and many believe it emits a sweet and pleasant odor while printing.
As PLA has minimal warping and shrinkage, PLA is ideal for making objects that need flat surfaces and hard angles, or objects that will fit together. PLA is more brittle than ABS, but is still considered very strong and is perfect for most household applications.
Packing Information: This 1kg (2.2lbs) reel of 3mm PLA plastic filament comes on a heavy duty plastic reel and is vacuum sealed to keep out any moisture.
